Arctic Monkeys are an English rock band formed in 2003 in High Green, a suburb of Sheffield. The band consists of Alex Turner as the lead vocals, rhythm guitar and lead guitar, Jamie Cook as the lead guitar and rhythm guitar player, Nick O'Malley plays the bass and backing vocals, and Matt Helders plays the drums, also backing vocals. Former band member Andy Nicholson who incharge in bass guitar and backing vocals left the band in 2006 shortly after its debut album was released.
They have released five studio albums that are Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not in 2006 , Favourite Worst Nightmare in 2007 , Humbug in 2009. Their debut album is the fastest-selling debut album by a band in British chart history, and in 2013, Rolling Stone ranked it the 30th greatest debut album of all time.
The band have won seven Brit Award by winning both Best British Group and Best British Album three times, and have been nominated for three Grammy Awards. They also won the Mercury Prize in 2006 for their debut album, in addition to receiving nominations in 2007 and 2013. The band have headlined at the Glastonbury Festival twice, in 2007 and again in 2013.
Arctic Monkeys were heralded as one of the first bands to come to public attention via the internet through fan-based sites rather than from the band, with commentators suggesting they represented the possibility of a change in the way in which new bands are promoted and marketed.
Arctic Monkeys is one of my favourites band among all British bands that influenced in youth world. I have been interested in Arctic Monkeys since I was in Standard 6. Their vocalist Alex Turner still being my idol and dream man. I loved mostly all their songs but the most influencing and addicting are "Why'd You Only Called Me When You're High?", "Do I Wanna Know?'" and also "R U Mine?".
Their symphonies and beats keep repeating in my mind once I played them and I was too long with them and I think they are the best band with ups and downs that still strong in music industry. So why don't you take a listen for each of their song they had so you can feel the music strength in them that linked through me in yourself. Feel it!
